Xia Xeu Kue, 85 of Providence, RI sadly passed away on Saturday, January 29, 2022. Xia was born on August 16, 1936 in Pha Boun, Laos. Xia was the son of the late Chang Nha Kue and Mee Hang.

Xia was a man with a heart of gold. He was the pillar for his family and community. A man with the biggest heart to lead, guide, and love all. His voice commanded attention and was loved and respected by anyone who came to know him. Xia was a loyal and honorable Major who served in the Special Guerrilla Unit (1961-1975) under General Vang Pao, for the US CIA in the Vietnam War in Laos. His wit, courage, and bravery were his greatest assets.

Xia lived life to the fullest and achieved many great honors. He loved seeing his children and grandchildren fill the home with laughter and enjoyed spontaneous meals with friends and families who would visit unexpectedly. He would always have a pocket full of candies, ready to spoil his grandchildren and tell stories of his great adventures during the war. Xia always held a serious composure but was a kid at heart around his family. His undying love and dedication to his family, friends, and community will forever be remembered and will live on through his legacy.

He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Chia Hang Kue, his four sons, Tou Vue Kue (Nha Vue) and wife Chai of Hope, Arkansas, James Fong Kue of Providence, RI, Nao Kue of Providence, RI, and Tou Ger Kue and wife Samantha of Providence, RI as well as his four daughters, May Kue Her and husband Nao Tou Simon Her of Fresno, CA, Kaying Kue of Providence, RI, Julie Kue Yang and husband Billy (Tswv Nplooj) Yang of North Kingstown, RI, Lila Kue Lee and husband Teng Lee of Sheboygan, WI; 28 grandchildren - Solomon, Elizabeth, Thomas, Alexander, Bryanna, Aaron, Tallulah Kue, Song, Kao Foua, Chao, Ry Chao, Nou, Naly, Kou, Shu, David Vang, Crystal, Jada, Ali, Michael, Jasmine, Emily, Anu Her, Khachan, Yinkhong, Kelly Hang, Tyler and Jayden Yang along with 26 great- grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren.
